Holiday
I get it! Beep! Dr. Keen put together a special Thanksgiving just for me and Officer Ward. The humans make a lot of strange food and then sit around the table eating it all.
Officer Ward told me it was all about connections. Beep! He said that if he didn't have to stay close to campus to keep an eye on the Detention Center, he would be down in Florida with his family. Scout is lucky. Beep! All of my family is right here!

Cyber Defense Tip: Physical Security
Losing your computer or cell phone or even letting a stranger use it can be dangerous. Computers and cell phones can have a lot of personal information stored on them, not to mention all of your files and data!
If you have a laptop computer, don't leave it lying around in public. If you are using a public computer, don't save any important data or files on it when you leave. If you can, set all your electronic devices up with password-protection. It's also a good idea not to bring too much attention to yourself when using your computer or cell phone in public. If people see you use it, they might try to steal it.

Stupidity
I knew there was something wrong with our systems! Why didn't I take it seriously? Now Carlo is injured because I was too stupid to do the right thing.
I thought the systems were clean after I ran the Anti-Virus software. I should have dug deeper. Oh, Carlo, can you ever forgive me?

Cyber Defense Threat: Spyware
Spyware is a type of malware that is installed on your computer without you knowing about it. It can track what you do on the Internet, steal information you type into Web sites, and sometimes get information about you from your computer. You can get spyware on your computer by installing free programs you find on the Web, visiting risky Web sites, or by downloading and opening infected files.
To protect your computer, have a trusted adult help you install a spyware blocker to prevent most spyware from being installed, and scan your computer with anti-virus software regularly to find and remove any that get through the blocker.
Come visit the Hall of Quarantine at Diagnostics to see our spyware specimens.

Suspicious Behavior
Officer Ward told me we had had an uninvited guest to the Halloween Ball. Since then I've been scanning our systems for anything our 'guest' may have left behind while he was here. I'm starting to get some weird behaviors out of our emailing systems. I think something's wrong.

Halloween Bash
I told Scout I'd hold down the fort and I did, but a girl's got to have a little fun. A couple of my friends from research and the university all got together online in a private chat room I set up. I worked on broken computers and talked about my college days and scary movies. It was a lot of fun!
